Kevin Brunner is an associate attorney with Siegel, Yee & Brunner. He practices law in the area employment discrimination, labor law, civil rights, wage and hour law, and criminal defense.
Mr. Brunner has successfully represented clients in workplace discrimination cases regarding promotions or being subjected to wrongful termination because of race or gender. He has litigated on behalf of clients who have suffered retaliation from their employers for raising complaints about their treatment in the workplace or for blowing the whistle on public corruption. Mr. Brunner has litigated claims against police officers for violations of civil rights, including unlawful arrest and use of excessive force.
Mr. Brunner has experience representing clients in workplace discipline and administrative hearings, including city and county employees, University of California and California State University professors, and members of the San Francisco Fire Department.
Currently Mr. Brunner represents SEIU Local 87, the janitors union in San Francisco. Mr. Brunner’s work includes representing the union in matters before the National Labor Relations Board, litigating grievance arbitrations and NLRB hearings, and coordinating union elections.
Mr. Brunner graduated with honors form the University of California at Berkeley. Kevin Graduated form Vanderbilt Law School in 2010. During law school Mr. Brunner interned at the Davidson County District Attorneys Office working mostly on domestic violence prosecutions.
Additionally, Mr. Brunner is on the Board of Trustees for the non-profit Oakland Book Festival and serves as the organization’s legal counsel.
